One dead, one hurt in tree-trimming incident northwest of Omaha

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Neb. (WOWT) - Emergency personnel responded to a call Wednesday afternoon in north-central Douglas County after some in a work crew were injured.
Omaha Police told 6 News that the crew was clearing trees out of an area near 162nd and Ida streets when some sort of accident occurred at 2:37 p.m. causing a tree to fall on two of their workers.
Dispatchers confirmed shortly after that first-responders had transported someone “Code 4,” which means they are dead, from the location. OPD later confirmed that another had a severe leg injury.
Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the incident.
