One dead after SUV crashes into grain truck in Waterloo

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Neb. (WOWT) - One person was reported dead and another injured after a crash Thursday morning in western Douglas County involving an SUV and a semi-truck.

The crash happened around 7:30 a.m. at 264th and Blondo streets. An SUV was traveling westbound on Blondo approaching 264th, and a grain truck was traveling northbound on 264th approaching Blondo, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report.

Witnesses said the SUV did not stop before entering the intersection and struck the grain truck, the DCSO report states.

A fatal crash in Waterloo leaves one dead and another injured

The driver of the SUV was killed and the driver of the truck suffered minimal injuries.

While a team investigated the scene, first-responders had roads shut down up to one mile in every direction.
