(WOWT) - The sting is real as Purdue beats Nebraska 28-23. It’s different than the first game of the year, it’s different than the eighth game in eight weeks. This was a home game off a bye against a team that has been inconsistent. The Huskers drop to 1-5 in the Big Ten with losses against Illinois, Minnesota and now Purdue.

Turnovers were a big part of the outcome, Nebraska had four of them, actually, Adrian Martinez had four of them with four interceptions. With the possessions that were cut short, the Boilermakers owned time of possession 38 minutes to 22 minutes.

This means Nebraska has to win all three remaining games to become bowl eligible but it feels like there’s no chance of it happening. Almost strange to even consider it following this performance in what was likely the most winnable game of the final four. Yes, it’s another home loss to Purdue.

Omar Manning had four catches for 75 yards and a touchdown. Jaquez Yant ran for 60 yards, Rahmir Johnson returned and looked healthy running for 52 yards with a late touchdown catch.

Up next, it’s Ohio State, the Buckeyes will travel to Lincoln.
