Update: LPD says motorcyclist has died after Monday night crash

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police say a 61-year-old man has died from his injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash in northwest Lincoln.

The crash happened Monday around 10:45 p.m. at 1st and Adams Streets.

LPD says a southbound motorcyclist lost control of his bike as he closed in on the roundabout. He then crashed and ended up on the west side of the roundabout.

Police say the man was transported to a Lincoln hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, where he was later declared dead.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and the identity of the man will not be released until family has been notified.

Police said the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.
