(WOWT) - As expected the Huskers hammer Fordham 52-7, which was the expected outcome and margin of victory. The question is, did Nebraska improve? We won’t know that until down the road.

Samori Toure had a nice game catching eight passes for 133 yards, he also scored a touchdown on an option play.

Adrian Martinez was more accurate completing 17 of 23 for 254 yards and a touchdown. Chancellor Brewington, a transfer from Northern Arizona, caught that touchdown. Logan Smothers relieved Adrian in the second half, valuable reps and experience because the Huskers will likely need depth at quarterback. Adrian hasn’t started every game in any season at Nebraska.

Austin Allen also had four catches, bringing in all four that came his way. Showing his reliability.

The defense also had a good day forcing three turnovers. JoJo Domann had his first interception plus Deontai Williams had two. Quinton Newsome had the Huskers only sack and that came on a corner blitz early. Could be a concern, no sacks from seven against this FCS team.

The Huskers turned the ball over twice, the first was another misplayed punt by Cam Taylor-Britt. The ball bounced off the ground and then off Cam, Fordham recovered. The other was a fourth-quarter fumble by Smothers.

The Huskers will be back inside Memorial Stadium next week against Buffalo. The Bulls also blew out an FCS team this week, beating Wagner 69-7.
