LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - A U.S. district judge sentenced a 30-year-old accused of distributing child porn on Friday.

Trevor Hansen was sentenced to five years and three months in prison for the distribution of child pornography. He was also ordered to pay $9,000 in restitution and will have “six years of supervised release with special conditions,” according to the release.

After a second cyber tip of a Kik user named MOOSE2356 uploading child pornography on July 1, 2020, there was a search warrant at Hansen’s home on Aug. 17, 2020. His phone and smartwatch were taken by Homeland Security Investigations.

Hansen was later identified as the Kik user. While agreeing to an interview, “he admitted to viewing child pornography and that child pornography would be found on his cell phone,” as stated in the release.

In an investigation by Homeland Security, the first cyber tip was on June 11, 2019, of the Kik user uploading child pornography.

Investigators say there were about 307 images in Hansen’s phone and they discovered text messages where he exchanged images with others in a “quid pro quo type,” according to the release.
