Blackstone teams up with neighbors and businesses to suggest changes in pedestrian safety
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - An effort to make Blackstone safer for people to explore the district on foot. The proposed improvements will create a new postcard view of the city.
The Blackstone Business Improvement District is partnering with local businesses and neighbors to propose changes to pedestrian safety. This will include expanded sidewalks and new lighting to help people safely navigate the area.
Last month, a young woman was by an SUV outside a Blackstone bar. She was crossing Farnam Street to get to her apartment.
Surveillance video showed a fast-moving SUV slam into her. There’s a meeting on Tuesday, July 27 at 6 p.m. for people to get involved.
The meeting will be at the Cottonwood Hotel off 36th and Farnam Street.
