Troubled Omaha sports bars under new ownership
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The troubled Good Life Sports Bar and Lounge has been sold.
According to a news release on Thursday, an ownership group led by local restauranteur Aaron McKeever and Lori and Nick Heimann have acquired three Good Life locations: The Good Life Lounge at 108th and Pacific, as well as the Elkhorn and Papillion locations. They are also planning to open a location in Gretna.
“We are excited to be a part of the Good Life community. We look forward to creating opportunities and growing a brand that is synonymous with Omaha and its surrounding areas,” McKeever said in the release.
Paperwork was finalized July 19, the release states.
The future of the bar has been in doubt since the Omaha City Council on May 18 delayed a decision on whether to revoke the bar’s liquor license over accusations that minors had been served alcohol; and allegations that the owner, Chad McMahon, had tampered with video evidence of a Christmas Eve 2020 incident.
Unrelated to issues with the business, McMahon was also accused of assault in April at a Sarpy County bar.
