OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Ozone Action Day is happening tomorrow. The air quality forecast issued today by the Douglas County Health Department projects elevated ozone concentrations on Tuesday.

They could pose a health risk to people with chronic respiratory problems, such as asthma, emphysema, and bronchitis. So residents are asked to take steps to help reduce the Ozone problem.

Those include:

  • Refueling vehicles at dusk or nighttime to avoid greater loss of fuel through evaporation
  • Not allowing a vehicle to idle for more than 30 seconds
  • Carpooling when possible
  • Using electric or manual lawn equipment
