OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - 6 News on Thursday obtained the report from the Douglas County Health Department inspect that led an indoor waterpark to shut down earlier this month.

According to the report, a health inspector found several deficiencies at CoCo Key Resort, located near 72nd and Grover streets.

Among the most jarring:

  • A line of scum in the spa that needed cleaning.
  • Loose handrails in need of repair.
  • Spilled chemicals in the Lazy River’s chemical storage room, in the activity pool, and in the children’s pool.
  • No on-duty lifeguards at the Lazy River.

The health department is also investigating two complaints of people becoming ill after visiting CoCo Key.

A June 15 post on Coco Key’s Facebook page said the facility would close for good on July 17 and that season pass ticket-holders should contact the resort’s general manager for a pro-rated rebate.
