OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Today marked day two of the College World Series but baseball wasn’t the only thing that was celebrated.

Die-hard fans and good old fashion tailgating is a perfect recipe for a good time before entering the game. But today may be extra exciting for all these baseball fans since it’s Father’s Day.

Fans like Stacey Crawford, who’s from Tylertown, Miss., came to Omaha with his son Cameron. Stacey is grateful to spend the holiday and game with his son.

“It’s a special day. I get a little, teary, kinda,” said Stacey.

He said this is their third trip to Omaha. Baseball is a way that makes him and Cameron closer and holds a strong bond with one another for their love of the game.

“It’s a sport both of us love. I was never good at it, but I like going to games. Especially college. We’re fortunate we get to go together,” said Stacey.

This may be one of the last CWS games Stacey and Cameron will be able to go together for a while since Cameron will be finishing his master’s at Texas Tech. Both will be taking advantage of the time they have with each other.

“We love watching Mississippi baseball together and I’m soon to be graduated with my master’s in college, so it’s kind of making memories before we move off to different parts of life so it’s just really fun,” said Cameron.

Even though going to the CWS games together may be less frequent in the future, the atmosphere here in Omaha is something they will always cherish.

“I mean, it’s one of a kind environment, there’s nowhere else you see this kind of baseball and everybody is so nice, and everybody is in a good mood. It’s super great.”

Stacey and Cameron plan to stay in Omaha for the next Mississippi game and on.
