Katie Ledecky’s big night swimming and winning the mile plus 200 meter freestyle
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - For the second time in two days, Katie Ledecky does the double, the 1500 meter free and 200 meter free. It’s a challenge anytime a swimmer has two events an hour apart but particularly difficult when it includes what is considered the mile.
No worries, Katie won both races and neither was close. In fact, the challenge will be even bigger in Tokyo, she’s expecting to swim a 200 meter, 400 meter and 1500 meter race on the same day. Ledecky considers this good experience.
Alex Walsh won the 200-meter individual medley in a very close finish. The top three swimmers were four one hundredths apart. Zach Harting won the mens 200-meter butterfly, which means he will make his Olympic debut.
