OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Two people told police they were struck by gunfire in a north Omaha neighborhood early Wednesday morning.

Omaha Police responding to a ShotSpotter alert near 28th and Spencer streets found a 36-year-old man at the scene who said he was sitting in a parked vehicle when he was hit, according to an OPD report. The call came in only a few minutes after OPD was called to the scene of a shooting less than two miles away that left one man dead and two women injured.

A 22-year-old woman said she, too, was hit by a gunshot while insider her nearby apartment, the report states.

Neither injuries were life-threatening, and no suspect information was available, according to the report.

OPD is still investigating the incident. Anyone with information about it is urged to call Omaha Crime Stoppers at 402-444-STOP (7867); or submit a tip at or via the P3 Tips app.
