Omaha’s Carson Schaake qualifies for U.S. Open
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Carson Schaake will be the fourth golfer from Nebraska since 2000 to play in the U.S. Open. He led a loaded field in the qualifier at Springfield Country Club in Ohio with a 36-hole score of -9.
Carson won by three strokes after firing a 68 and a 63. Troy Merritt who he played with also made the championship field.
Carson is a graduate of Creighton Prep and played college golf at Iowa. He was the 2015 Big Ten champion.
