David’s Forecast Update - Spotty downpours Tuesday evening. Best rain chance arrives Friday!
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The summertime pattern continues for yet another day, with no real signs of stopping. Tuesday started off very similarly to Monday, with temperatures in the upper-60s and mostly sunny skies. Highs this afternoon have warmed back into the upper-80s and lower-90s with muggy dew points in the 60s.
As temperatures heated up quickly throughout the morning, cumulus clouds began to bubble up. If you’re lucky, you may find yourself under an isolated downpour this afternoon. Otherwise, partly cloudy, hot, and humid conditions persist through the evening.
Temperatures overnight will drop near 70°, with highs Wednesday yet again in the lower-90s under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies.
The hottest and most humid day of the week will be Thursday, as highs climb into the mid-90s and heat indices near the triple digits.
Our best chance of rain for the week arrives Friday morning into the early afternoon. If the system holds together, it could have some bite to it, with gusty winds being the primary threat. Depending on the system’s track, up to an inch of rain may fall across parts of the WOWT viewing area. We certainly are crossing our fingers for some much-needed rainfall!
Behind Friday’s rain chance, temperatures will top out in the upper-80s for the afternoon – with a break in humidity as well. Upper-80s are expected Saturday, before 90s return beginning Sunday.
