Omaha Police arrest son who allegedly shot his father

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Omaha Police are investigating a Sunday morning shooting that left a man with non-life-threatening injuries and his son in jail.

Malik Williams, 19, was arrested at the scene and will face charges of first-degree felony assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony, according to the police report.

OPD officers responding to a shooting call at midnight near South 98th Avenue and Mockingbird Drive found a 46-year-old man with gunshot injuries, the report states. The man was taken to Bergan Mercy, and officials determined his injuries are non-life-threatening.

Officers said they determined during the investigation that the alleged shooter, identified as Williams, was the son of the 46-year-old.

Williams was booked into Douglas County Corrections.
