Mallory’s Evening Forecast - Heating back up for the workweek!
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - After back-to-back sunny, hot days in the low to mid-90s Friday and Saturday, cloud cover gave some of us a break Sunday.
The day started with abundant sunshine, before clouds moved in from the south and southeast throughout the morning and into the afternoon. Though the humidity was high, with dew points in the 60s, highs struggled to warm past the mid-80s in many spots. The exception was northwest of the Omaha Metro (near Norfolk), where skies were much clearer for the majority of the day and temperatures warmed back into the 90s.
Mostly to partly cloudy skies take us through the evening and into the overnight hours, with lows dropping back into the upper-60s. Gusty winds will back off Sunday night.
Mostly sunny skies return Monday, with highs warming into the lower-90s. A very similar forecast is in store Tuesday, with just a spotty afternoon thundershower possible.
The heat really cranks up mid-week, with highs soaring into the mid to possibly upper-90s. Dew points will be rising into the 70s as well, likely pushing heat indices into the triple digits. Stay hydrated if you’ll be outside these days!
Out best chance for storms arrives late Thursday night through midday Friday. Behind this front, we’ll see some relief from the humidity, but highs will likely bounce right back into the lower-90s for the weekend.
