COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (WOWT) - It’s all tail wagging and fun in Council Bluffs.

“Here at Lakeside Country Store we’re having our first official Dog Days event,” said Kristin Schmit.

Many things are offered for dogs of all kinds at this event, like obstacle courses, opportunities to adopt puppies, talk to a nutritionist about what’s good for your dog, and more. The store’s purpose for the first-time event is to celebrate a good time between a dog and its owner.

“We want to be in touch with our customers. You know it’s time. It’s summer, it’s time to get out and have fun and enjoy life again. Life’s too short and what better way with dogs?” said Schmit.

Thanks to everyone that came out to our 1st Annual Dog Days Event. Big Shout Out to our speakers Kristin Big Moose Dog...

With the pandemic, Logan Snyder and her dog Ember were cooped up inside and not able to go to as many dog-based events. But with the Lakeside Country Store hosting this event, she is excited to be here.

“Getting the chance to be out and do stuff is always a fun thing to do and now after this last year, even more so having the opportunity to go out and do something is a joy,” said Snyder.

Snyder says she is impressed with the first dog day event.

“For the first-year event, it’s a lot being offered and everything is very dog oriented. Which for a dog event is good because not all of them are great at doing that,” said Snyder.
