Mallory’s Evening Forecast - Rain chance pushing south for Memorial Day
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Conditions stayed cloudy and cool – but mostly dry – in the Omaha Metro Sunday. However, that was not the case everywhere. Rain showers impacted areas to the north and west, with the heaviest totals falling around Norfolk. Dry air really chewed up the moisture, causing showers to break up and slow down when approaching Omaha.
We’ll hold a light rain chance through the evening, but the best chance now is south – in northwestern Missouri. Mostly cloudy skies are on tap overnight, with lows dropping to around 50°.
Another surge of moisture will move in from the south Monday morning. We’ll hold a chance for light scattered showers Monday morning into the early afternoon, primarily for areas south of I-80. The greatest coverage of rain will hover closer to the Kansas and Missouri borders.
Conditions should dry out for everyone mid-afternoon into the evening, with highs in the Metro warming into the lower-70s. Clouds will decrease from north to south throughout the day as well.
Outside of spotty rain chances both Tuesday (south) and Wednesday (east) PM, we are looking to dry out this week. Temperatures will be on the rise as well, with highs back in the 80s by Thursday into the weekend.
