OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Morning rain showers quickly exited to the east this afternoon, with a few breaks in the clouds allowing temperatures to bounce back nicely. While still a bit below average, very pleasant conditions are expected for Friday evening with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the middle 60s. Any rain chances will hold off until well after dark, so evening plans should be safe. Clouds will increase again overnight as a few more showers push into the area. Scattered showers will be possible, mainly south of I-80. Any rain will be light, and most of the metro will likely stay dry.

A few light showers may linger into Saturday morning, otherwise, most of the area will wake up to mainly cloudy skies and temperatures in the lower 50s. We may see more clouds than sun at times, but we’ll see enough sunshine for temperatures to finally jump back into the 70s for the afternoon, with highs near 74 in the metro. Low rain chances will linger throughout the day, though most of the area will be dry. We will see a better chance for rain return to the area Sunday afternoon. That will keep us a touch cooler, with a high near 70. Scattered showers and storms become more likely by the late afternoon or evening hours, lasting into Monday morning.

After some early showers on Monday, we should see drier weather for Monday and Tuesday with temperatures in the middle 70s. An isolated storm can’t be ruled out, but most of the day should be dry. Another chance for scattered showers and storms will roll in on Wednesday, lasting into Thursday. This is likely the better chance for rain for the week, and a few heavier rainfall totals will be possible with any storm. Temperatures continue to warm despite the rain, with highs climbing into the 80s by the end of the week.
