Huskers volleyball opens up the new season with a sweep at Indiana

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - After a very long offseason, one that stretched into 2019 the Huskers open up the new season with a three-set sweep of Indiana. Nebraska’s successful run against Indiana continues, they haven’t lost since the late 70′s.

The 15th ranked team took it 25-22, 25-20, 25-17 at Wilkinson Hall.

Lexi Sun led with 11 kills hitting .429. As a team, the Huskers hit .317. Nicklin Hames had 29 assists with nine digs. Freshman defensive specialist Keonilei Akana added nine digs, Nebraska out-dug Indiana 36-21.

Sun also had a career-high four aces and three of them happened consecutively in the second set. The two teams will do it again Saturday at 5pm.
