Rusty’s Morning Forecast - Increasing clouds with a little less warming. Snow still expected Wednesday.
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - There are still a few areas of patchy dense fog this morning but they will burn off as we slowly warm this morning. We won’t warm quite as much this afternoon because clouds build in during the afternoon and limit our sunshine. Highs in the upper 30s are likely with some 40s to the west.
Clouds really thicken up tonight with a few shower possible after midnight into the early morning hours Wednesday. Wednesday is a First Alert Day due to snow potential but we will likely start with showers or a melting mix for a good portion of the morning.
The mix will change to snow in the afternoon and linger into the evening. Most of the metro will end up with near 1″ of slow accumulating snow but an isolated 2″ total is possible. Higher totals are likely north of the metro with Tekamah, West Point and Onawa likely to see the most from this system. It will wrap up overnight and leave us with a colder Thursday.
Luckily we won’t have much in the way of wind along with system so blowing and drifting won’t be major concern. Watch for slick roads being the biggest issue with the slowly following snow.
