Many of us have had someone very close to us diagnosed with cancer. This month, we introduce you to Deb Cammarato. She is a mother of two daughters, and a grandmother.
Deb was diagnosed with lung cancer four years ago. She has been battling it since then but last summer she started experiencing other symptoms. When Deb tried to stand up, she would immediately get dizzy and fall backwards. She had an MRI, and found out she has a pea-sized tumor on her brain.
Deb's doctor suggested she try a new, unique form of radiation, called stereotactic radiosurgery. It's a form of radiation that can pinpoint a small area in the brain, and send a focused beam of radiation to it.
Even though it has surgery in the title, there's no actual surgery involved. It can be done in a day, and requires no hospitalization.
Deb has certainly seen results with it. We will share her success in our August Health Check report.
