Samson Tomes
– Samson is a wannabe filmmaker, whose life hasn’t exactly panned out according to his plan. He, however, doesn’t realize this and is still trying to do everything in his power to make his first independent film. He caught a lucky break by stumbling across the website for the “Middle of Nowhere Film Festival” after asking Jeeves, “I’m a young man in the middle of nowhere who likes to film things and am looking for a festival,” which isn’t actually a question. His focus is making his film, and he will do anything to get that done, not thinking about the repercussions that his actions have on other people. |
Johnny Mayfair
– Johnny is a failing musician who struggles to make a name for himself in the local music scene. Although he’s played open mic nights around town for years, no one knows his name…or his stage name, Johnny 6-String. To top it off, he is a hopeless romantic who falls in love with every girl he meets. He constantly talks about leaving town to make it big, but because he's a one-man band, he worries about life on the road. |
Drake Tungston
– Drake is considered the proprietor of the local black market; however, his hard looking exterior appears to be more of a façade because he’s really a nice guy. He owns Dead People’s Stuff Antiques as a front for his underground gambling ring that features unorthodox casino games. Johnny Mayfair has been a gambling acquaintance of Drake’s for years. |
Landlord
– The landlord of the apartment building that Johnny and Samson live in is simply referred to by everyone as Landlord. Unfortunately, his life hasn’t turned out as he’d hoped either, as he was originally an actor in the Georgian Theatre. He came to America “to become a rich and famous actor like Shaquille O’Neal,” but ended up inheriting a small apartment complex when his uncle died. He speaks English but has somewhat of an accent that may or may not be considered Russian. He cares little about his appearance or what other people think of him and often lets his quick temper get the best of him. |

"Going Nowhere" is a character-driven comedy that revolves around one of the central characters -- Samson Tomes.
Samson is an aspiring filmmaker who wants nothing more than to get his independent film into the prestigious Middle Of Nowhere Film Festival. He is able to land a meeting with the director of the film festival, but is obviously in over his head.
The story follows Samson, and his best friend, Johnny Mayfair, as they try to get Samson's film made... and avoid their landlord.

Liz
- Liz is a local street ruffian who wouldn't think twice about punching someone in the face just to steal their cola. She's quite the badass, but after a chance encounter with Johnny in a darkened alley, she turns into a giddy, stammering, girly girl whenever she sees him. This doesn't bother her as much as it does everyone else. |
|
Wong
- Wong is a small man who has connections to Drake. He often lets himself get talked into things; however, because of his background, he fully emerses himself in the things he gets talked into. Voted "Most Likely To Own A Fishing Boat" by his high school, Wong is on a mission to prove his former classmates wrong. |
