WOWT-TV Broadcasting Scholarship Program
WOWT awards two Broadcast Scholarships ($1,000 each) per year. Applications are accepted from viewing area high school seniors from December to mid-March.

Purpose:
To provide an annual scholarship for graduates in the Channel 6 viewing area pursuing a career in broadcasting.
Eligible Schools:
All area high schools in the Channel 6 viewing area.
Selection Criteria:
1. Graduating Senior;
2. Student must provide proof of 3.0 GPA along with application to be eligible;
3. Student must be pursuing further education at an accredited educational institution;
4. Student must be pursuing a career in TV Broadcast Journalism; TV Broadcast Production; TV Broadcast Engineering, TV Broadcast Marketing and/or Communications; etc.; and
5. Student must have exhibited an excellent character, reputation, and record.
Scholarship Award:
Two $1,000 scholarships (payable directly to educational institution at which student is enrolled)

Recipients chosen by a panel of WOWT management consisting of:
Program Timeline:
- Applications accepted December 1 through May 15
- Selection Committee Meeting by May 30 to review and select
- Interviews Held June 1 - 15
- Final Selection Committee Meeting Held by June 20 to review and select Recipients
- Recipients Notified by June 30 with invitations to Award Luncheon
- Luncheon held with Recipients, Guests and WOWT Management by mid-July
