Daybreak Meteorologist Rusty Lord joined the WOWT Channel 6 Weather Team in June of 2008 after working at KDLT-TV in Sioux Falls, SD. He graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelors of Science in Meteorology. While in Sioux Falls, he was awarded “Best Weathercast” by the South Dakota Associated Press in 2007.
After growing up in Western Iowa, he is thrilled to be working in Omaha and loves the weather that the Midwest has to offer!! When not at work, Rusty still enjoys keeping a close eye on the skies.
Rusty is an avid sports fan and enjoys playing and watching a wide variety of sports. He is a huge fan of Husker football and loves watching the Iowa State Cyclones play college hoops.
