Jim Flowers is best known to viewers as "The Heartland's most experienced meteorologist". Born and raised in Elyria, Ohio, Jim has earned this title, forecasting the weather for 27 years. He has his Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Penn State University, and has won numerous awards including, the AKSARBEN Gold Award for public service, and the 1995 Nebraska State Education Association award for WeatherSchool.
Prior to joining the Channel 6 News team, Jim was the weather forecaster for KETV. He is currently Chief Meteorologist, and supervisor of WOWT's Precision Forecast Center. Jim is also the producer of "When The Siren Sounds", a half hour show documenting some of Omaha's most severe weather experiences.
Jim's Precision Forecasts can be seen weeknights on the Channel 6 News at 5, 6, and 10PM. His forecasts have been awarded "The Best Weathercast" in Nebraska by the Associated Press. He is married, with two boys, Brian and Patrick, and for relaxation enjoys bass fishing, camping, and of course, the weather.
