Meteorologist Jill Gilardi joined the WOWT Weather Authority Team in September of 2011.
Prior to arriving in Omaha, Jill worked at KOLR10 and KSFX news in Springfield, Missouri, beginning in 2005. She started her career in television at KQ2 in St. Joseph, Missouri in 2004.
Jill is definitely used to forecasting extreme winter and spring weather across the Midwest and looks forward to the ongoing challenge.
She grew up in Massachusetts and received a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology at Lyndon State College in Vermont.
In addition to her work on Channel 6, she writes monthly crop and weather-related articles for a company called eDairy. During the spring, Jill enjoys storm chasing and is lead forecaster for Extreme Chase Tours.
When she is not at work, Jill is always keeping a close eye on conditions outside and enjoys taking pictures of weather events! Jill not only loves the weather, but also nature in general, animals, sports and expressing her artistic side.
She is very enthusiastic about weather and enjoys visiting schools and teaching students about how the atmosphere works. Feel free to contact her!
