Jodi Baker joined the reporting staff at WOWT in February, 2008. She’s happy to return to her home town after spending five years in the Golden state. While in San Diego, she worked as a freelance reporter at XETV, covering major news stories including the historic recall of Governor Gray Davis, the subsequent election of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, San Diego’s city pension deficit scandal and the county’s devastating wildfires. She earned a Golden Mike Merit Award for her feature on websites which promote dangerous behavior.
On the lighter side, she enjoyed getting to cover Chargers football and Padres baseball action. “But, I’m a Husker through and through. Excitement at Qualcomm Stadium can’t come close to Memorial stadium on game day,” she said.
Baker also worked as a reporter for KMTV, an anchor/producer/reporter for NTV (KHGI) in Kearney, and for Cox Communications. She’s dabbled in Omaha radio, too.
When she’s not working, she’s spending quality time with her husband, their two small children, Kellen and Elizabeth, and their Cairn Terrier, Eddie.
