Malorie is an award winning journalist. She has won awards from the Associated Press and the Nebraska Broadcasters Association. Prior to assuming her duties on the station's primary newscasts, she served as co-anchor on WOWT's Live at Daybreak and as a consumer investigator for Six On Your Side.
Malorie moved to Omaha from Joplin, Missouri where she was the main anchor for KODE. Before that, Malorie worked for KAKE in Wichita, KS. as a consumer investigator. While at KAKE, Malorie won a Kansas Area Broadcasters Award for her undercover work on the investigative series “Bad Judgment.”
Malorie was selected as one of the “Ten Outstanding Young Omahans” in 2005 for her leadership and volunteer work in the community. She was also selected as a board member for the YWCA.
Malorie got the chance to host, two 30-minute behind-the-scenes shows at WOWT. The first one featured the Broadway production of “The Lion King.” Malorie also hosted a behind-the-scenes show featuring “Phantom of the Opera.” Both were in coordination with Broadway Across America, and allowed Malorie and a production team to travel to L.A. and Chicago to film the cast and crew.
Malorie is an advocate for Breast Cancer Awareness. In Joplin she founded a program called Buddy Check 12, which raised more than $15,000 for breast cancer treatments and programs. Malorie continues to volunteer for several cancer organizations in the Heartland including Cancer Survivor’s Day and the American Cancer Society.
While in Joplin, Malorie was honored with the “Missouri Young Careerist” state award.
Malorie is a graduate of the University of Kansas, where she was a student producer for the Roy Williams Show. She grew up in Kansas. She lives in West Omaha with her husband, Greg and their son.
