The Omaha Storm Chasers fell for the third consecutive time at Werner Park as they lost, 6-3, to the Salt Lake Bees on Tuesday night. However, the game was not void of any highlights when, in the second inning, Wil Myers drove a ball over the AT&T Home Run Porch in left field for his first career Triple-A roundtripper.

Starting pitcher Ryan Verdugo (3-1) was hit with his first loss of the season after getting tagged for five runs over 5.2 innings pitched. Relievers Blaine Hardy, Brandon Sisk and Ramon Colon combined to finish the final 3.1 innings and gave up just a lone run.

Jason Bourgeois singled to lead-off the contest, stole second and was brought home two batters later on Myers’ bomb to give Omaha (27-19) a 2-0 lead.

Salt Lake (25-21) wasted little time and cut the Storm Chasers lead in half in the top of the second. The Bees buzzed out to a 5-2 advantage in the fourth as they rode a power surge of two, two-run homers to leap ahead of the Chasers.

Omaha was not going to go down in front of their hometown crowd without a fight and David Lough proved that point when he tripled to lead-off the sixth inning. Catcher Max Ramirez followed that up with a single up-the-middle to bring in Lough and cut Salt Lake’s lead to 5-3.

The Bees were not bothered by a potential comeback and added a big insurance run in the seventh to extend their lead to 6-3. The Chasers were not able to carve out any more runs and fell to Salt Lake for the second day in a row.

Omaha and Salt Lake will hook-up for game three of this four-game series on Wednesday at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday’s contest features All You Can Eat Seat where you can enjoy an all you can eat buffet while you watch the game for only $10 for kids and $18 for adults (in addition to your game ticket).
