Omaha out-hit Colorado Springs 12-6, but lost 4-2 Wednesday afternoon at Werner Park.
Tommy Field’s first-inning home run gave the Sky Sox a 1-0 lead. Omaha tied it in the home first. With two men out, Wil Myers doubled and Clint Robinson walked. Adam Moore then singled to score Myers.
Colorado Springs took a 2-1 lead in the fifth on Chad Tracy’s homer. The Storm Chasers again tied it up in the sixth on David Lough’s eighth home run of the season.
Roman Colon (3-2) replaced Tommy Hottovy to start the ninth and gave up a double to Andrew Brown, who went to third on a wild pitch. Brendan Harris walked and Charlie Culberson struck out. Colon intentionally walked Hernan Iribarren to load the bases. Tracy singled in Brown. Vin Mazzaro came on to pitch for Colon and fanned Wilkin Castillo, but uncorked a wild pitch that allowed Harris to score for a 4-2 lead.
