Storm Chasers Top Tacoma 5-4

Omaha scored three runs in the eighth inning and escaped with a 5-4 win over Tacoma Friday night at Werner Park.

Carlos Peguero led off the second inning with his fourth home run of the year to give the visitors a 1-0 lead and the Rainiers took a 2-0 lead in the fifth as Trayvon Robinson singled, stole second and came around to score on a Luis Rodriguez single.

The Storm Chasers tied it in the home half of the fifth. Anthony Seratelli walked and took second on Kevin Kouzmanoff’s ground out to the pitcher. He would score on Cody Clark’s single. Jason Bourgeois’ grounder forced Clark out at second base. Bourgeois went to second when Andrew Carraway balked and Derrick Robinson followed with a walk. Wil Myers doubled home Bourgeois.

Tacoma took the lead right back in the sixth. Peguero walked and would later go to third on Vinnie Catricala’s single. Chih-Hsien Chiang’s sacrifice fly to right scored Peguero.

Cesar Jimenez replaced Carraway to start the eighth. With one out, Myers tripled and scored on Clint Robinson’s single to tie the game at 3-3. Tony Abreu singled and David Lough doubled in two more runs.

In the ninth, Johan Limonta and Trayvon Robinson singled and were sacrificed to second and third. Carlos Triunfel grounded out third to first to score Limonta. Peguero walked, but Luis Antonio Jimenez grounded out to end the game.
