Storm Chasers Pop Nashville 11-2

Catcher Brett Hayes went 4-for-4 with a pair of home runs and seven RBIs leading the Storm Chasers to an 11-2 rout of Nashville Sunday afternoon at Werner Park.

Hayes doubled home two runs in the first for an early lead. After the Sounds tied it in the third, Omaha took a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the inning. After David Lough was hit by pitch and Johnny Giavotella walked, Hayes sent his first homer of the season over the left field fence.

Xavier Nady singled to open the sixth inning. Hayes followed with a single and Irving Falu walked to load the bases. Willy Taveras then cleared the bases with a triple and Brandon Wood singled him home to put the Chasers ahead 9-2. Hayes knocked a two-run shot in the seventh inning.

Brian Sanches (1-0) went 5.2 innings for the win. He gave up two runs on four hits, striking out four and walking one. Tyler Thornburg (0-1) took the loss, charged with five runs on four hits, striking out three and walking one.
