Royals Part Ways With Two Pitchers

The Kansas City Royals announced Thursday they have sold right-hander Jeremy Jeffress to Toronto and traded left-hander Tommy Hottovy to Texas for a player to be named or cash.

Jeffress was 0-0 with a 6.75 ERA in 13 relief appearances for the Royals this year. Hottovy had no record and a 2.89 ERA in nine relief appearances.

Jeffress was 5-4 with a 4.97 ERA and two saves in 37 games, all in relief, for the Omaha Storm Chasers. Hottovy was 2-2 with a 2.52 ERA and seven saves in 41 games, all in relief, for Omaha.
