The Storm Chasers had 10 hits but could only manage two runs in a 6-2 loss at Oklahoma City Saturday night.
Jimmy Paredes and Mike Hessman doubled in the first inning to produce the first RedHawks’ run. In the third, Brett Wallace knocked a three-run homer to make it 4-0.
Wil Myers’ 17th home run in the fourth got Omaha on the scoreboard. Oklahoma City put two more on the board in the fifth to take a 6-1 lead. Fernando Martinez singled, Wallace was hit by a pitch and both would score on a Matt Dominguez double to left.
Adam Moore doubled in the ninth and later scored on Irving Falu’s single for the other Omaha run.
Jose Cisnero (1-0) worked seven innings for the win and Ryan Verdugo (7-3) went five innings for Omaha, charged with six of Oklahoma City’s seven hits and all six runs. He struck out six and walked two.
