The Storm Chasers out-hit the Sounds 11-9, but were shut out until late in the game, losing 5-3 Sunday afternoon in Nashville.
The Sounds took a 1-0 lead in the second when Sean Halton tripled and Pete Orr followed with a double. They made it 3-0 in the fourth as Halton led off with a walk, Orr singled him to second and Hector Gomez was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Jeremy Hermida doubled home two runs. Nashville made it 5-0 in the fifth on Orr's two-run homer. The second baseman went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored, needing only a triple for the cycle.
The Omaha offense finally got going in the eighth inning. Brian Bocock, Brett Eibner and Christian Colon hit consecutive singles for one run. After Jimmy Paredes flied out and Carlos Peguero struck out, Matt Fields doubled in Eibner. Alfredo Figaro replaced Michael Blazek to face Paulo Orlando, who singled home Colon.
Mike Fliers (2-0) got the win and P.J. Walters (0-1) took the loss. Both teams are now 5-6.
