The Kansas City Royals recalled second baseman Johnny Giavotella from Triple-A Omaha Wednesday afternoon.
Giavotella, played in 46 games with the Royals last season, hitting .247 with two homers and 21 RBIs. He appeared in 31 games this year for the Storm Chasers, hitting .331 with five home runs and 25 RBIs.
Pitcher Blaine Hardy was transferred from Double-A Northwest Arkansas to take Giavotella’s roster spot in Omaha.
