Kelvin Herrera, Danny Duffy and Louis Coleman combined for a five-hit shutout, the fourth of the season for Omaha, as the Storm Chasers (36-47) avoided a sweep at home to the division-leading Iowa Cubs (42-42) with a 3-0 win. The victory moves Omaha to within 5.5 games of the I-Cubs for the division lead despite being 11 games under .500.

Left-hander Danny Duffy was sensational in his fifth 2013 appearance for the Storm Chasers as he put together his longest outing of the season, limiting the I-Cubs to only three hits in 5.2 innings of work. Duffy has not allowed a run in his last 12.0 innings for the Storm Chasers, and his last two outings since being optioned to Omaha on June 25 have resulted in shutouts. Duffy has five career scoreless appearances in his 13 career Triple-A outings.

Kelvin Herrera started off the shutout with three innings in his second start of the series, allowing only two hits in his first appearance of three innings or more since being converted to a reliever after the 2010 season. In his 21 career appearances for Omaha between this season and the 2011 season, 17 have been scoreless outings for Herrera. Louis Coleman came in to complete the blanking of the I-80 rival with the final out of the game, tying him with Michael Mariot for the team lead in saves at six.

Anthony Seratelli started the scoring early for Omaha with a two-out, two-run single in the first inning that proved to be the game-winning hit, and newest Storm Chaser Chris Getz collected his second RBI in as many days on a two-out double scoring Willy Taveras all the way from first in the second. Seratelli was the only player with multiple hits in the game as he had his third three-hit performance of the season, with two of those games coming against the Iowa Cubs.

Iowa had only one at-bat in the game with runners in scoring position, as Jae-Hoon Ha in the first inning was the only Cub to reach second base, and three of the five hits allowed by Omaha were infield hits. The win for Omaha avoids the first sweep at the hands of the I-Cubs since the 2008 season.

The Storm Chasers next will welcome the New Orleans Zephyrs, Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins, to Werner Park in their first 2013 season appearance in Omaha. Left-hander Everett Teaford (3-2, 2.81 ERA) will take the hill for the Chasers, as the southpaw has allowed only seven earned runs in 30.0 innings as a starter this season. Teaford will face off with right-hander Matt Neil (2-3, 5.82 ERA) with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
