- The UN-Omaha men’s basketball team snapped its four-game losing skid on Thursday night, defeating IUPUI 88-66 at Ralston Arena. With the win, the Mavericks improve to 16-13 (5-8 Summit League), while the Jaguars fall to 6-24 (1-12 Summit League).
- The Omaha baseball team picked up its first win of the season on Tuesday, defeating St. Bonaventure 6-2 at the Snowbird Classic. With the win, the Mavericks improve to 1-3 (0-0 Summit League), while the Bonnies fall to 0-4 (0-0 Atlantic 10).
- Senior guard Justin Simmons is one of eight candidates to advance to Round Two of the 2014 “State Farm Dark Horse Dunker” competition, it was announced Monday by Intersport, producers of the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships.
- Inductees for the 2014 class of the Omaha Sports Hall of Fame at the Durham Museum were announced Tuesday, December 17th, 2013. “It is an outstanding group of inductees, certainly worthy of this recognition” said Dr. Jack Lewis of the Omaha Sports Hall of Fame.
