UNO travels to Murray State for the second round of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament, it was announced Thursday morning. The Mavericks and Racers tip off at 7 p.m. Monday in Murray, Kentucky.
Omaha got its first Division I postseason win Wednesday night, 91-75 over North Dakota at Ralston Arena while Murray State earned a 66-63 win at Missouri State.
The Mavericks (17-14, 5-9 Summit League) were led by junior forward Mike Rostampour, whose third career double-double came with 16 points and a career-high 21 rebounds, sixth-highest for a single game in school history, tying Terry Sodawasser (1983-84) and Al Lainio (2000).
John Karhoff added 17 points, CJ Carter 14, Alex Phillips 13 and Marcus Tyus had 13.
The Racers, guided by third-year head coach Steve Prohm, are 19-11 and went 13-3 in the Ohio Valley Conference. Cameron Payne leads Murray State in scoring at 16.3 points per game while Jarvis Williams has averaged a double-double with 14.6 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. T.J. Sapp (14.0 ppg) and Jeffery Moss (13.3 ppg) also average double-figure scoring.
This will be will the first meeting in program history between Omaha and Murray State.
