Abigail Haelewyn scored the game's only goal and goalkeeper Shannon Coley made five saves in Oakland's 1-0 win over UNO Sunday afternoon in Omaha.
Oakland (4-3-3, 1-0 Summit League) struck in the 16th minute. Haelewyn got free on the right side of the box and took a pass from Meghan Reynolds. Haelewyn slotted the ball into the left side of the net from 14 yards out past goalkeeper Sarah Warren, who entered the game in the 14th minute after Meaghan Clark left with an injury.
Oakland finished with a 13-9 edge in shots while the Mavericks (1-11, 1-1 Summit League) owned a 5-4 advantage in shots on goal.
