Northern Michigan goalie Jared Coreau made 35 saves, including 16 in the third period, as the Wildcats held off Nebraska Omaha 2-1 Saturday night at the CenturyLink Center.
Coreau, who had 26 in Friday's 5-2 loss, also had 14 saves on 15 shots in the second period. His only mistake was Josh Archibald's goal at 5:20 of the period.
Ryan Daugherty and Ryan Aynsley scored to give the Wildcats (3-1-0) a 2-0 lead early in the second period.
Anthony Stolarz made 21 stops for the Mavericks (2-2-0), who were 0-for-6 on the power play.
