Mavericks Move Into First-Place League Tie

UNO took a 2-1 decision Sunday afternoon at Kansas City.

Danielle Archuleta's goal in the 15th minute put the Mavs up 1-0. Archuleta headed home a cross from Melanie McCormick at 14:43 for her fifth of the season. In the 61st minute, Jordyn Braun headed home a corner kick from Hannah Wampler for a 2-0 lead. It was Braun's second goal of the year.

Kansas City (4-7-3, 1-2 Summit League) answered immediately in the 62nd minute as Hannah Chadick beat UNO goalie Meaghan Clark to the right corner of the net.

Omaha (3-11, 3-1 Summit League) finished with an 8-7 advantage in shots and a 4-3 edge in shots on goal.

The Mavericks are tied atop The Summit League standings with nine points, though both Western Illinois and Oakland are unbeaten in league play with 3-0 records.
