Paige Frauendorfer scored 17 of her 18 points in the second half and grabbed 13 rebounds leading UNO to a 65-58 win over Loyola-Chicago Saturday afternoon at the Sapp Fieldhouse.
The Mavs (6-2) trailed 55-54, but Casse Vaughn rebounded an errant three-pointer by Ericka House and put it in for a 56-55 lead with 2:56 to play.
After Loyola missed a three-point attempt, Frauendorfer converted an old-fashioned three-point play at the other end to put UNO up 59-55 with 1:30 left. After a timeout, Frauendorfer intercepted a Loyola inbounds pass underneath its own basket.
After each team failed to score, House grabbed a rebound and the Mavericks worked the ball around the before Frauendorfer tossed it up the court to a wide-open Vaughn for an easy layup and 61-56 lead with :26 left.
Patrice King's basket cut the lead to 61-58, but House hit two free throws for a 63-58 Mav lead. Frauendorfer blocked a shot and Jamie Nash iced the victory with two more free throws.
Nash added 16 points and seven assists while House finished with 10 points and four rebounds and Vaughn had nine points and four rebounds.
Monica Albano had a game-high 21 points for Loyola (3-5).
