In what could be the final game for Creighton in the Missouri Valley Conference, the Jays were eliminated from the MVC Tournament by Wichita State 11-4 Wednesday afternoon in Normal, Illinois.

Mo-Valley Honors Castagnini

Junior Federico Castagnini earned his second MVC Player of the Week nod on Monday, April 22. Castagnini is the first Bluejay to win the award twice in 2013 (also claimed it on April 8), the last Jay to do so in one season was Trever Adams in 2011 (March 14 & April 18).

McDermott on AP’s All-America Hoops Team

Creighton's Doug McDermott is an All-America for the second straight year while Trey Burke of Michigan and Otto Porter Jr. of Georgetown tied as the leading vote-getters for The Associated Press' first team.

McDermott Named District Player of the Year

Creighton forward Doug McDermott has been named the District VI Player of the Year by the United States Basketball Writers Association.He is Creighton's first player honored as District Player of the Year by the USBWA since Kyle Korver in 2002-03.
