Pacific evened its weekened series with Creighton with a 5-2 win at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers scored in the top of the first without the aid of a hit. Brett Sullivan walked to lead off the game and went all the way to third on a sacrifice bunt by Curtis Gomez. The hustle paid off as he scored on a sac fly from Dustin Torchio.
Creighton answered in the bottom of the second inning. Reagan Fowler singled, stole second and came home on Kevin Lamb's two-out single to left.
Pacific reclaimed the lead with two runs in the fifth. Gio Brusa doubled down the left-field line and moved to third on Tyler Sullivan's bunt single. A sacrifice fly from Brett Sullivan made it 2-1 and Tyler Sullivan later came around to score on Torchio's screamer that lined off CU pitcher Nick Musec (0-2) to make it a 3-1 game.
The Tigers tacked on two more runs in the seventh inning off reliever Mark Winkelman. Brett Sullivan singled with one out, moved to third after consecutive wild pitches and scored on Gomez's single up the middle. Gomez later scored on Erik Lockwood's single down the right-field line.
The Bluejays scored one in the ninth inning on Jake Peter's fourth hit of the day and eighth of the series, but Alex Staehely grounded out as the tying run against Pacific closer Kevin Hammann to end it.
