Wichita State avoided a weekend sweep at home by downing Creighton 4-1 Sunday afternoon.
The Bluejays scored first in the second inning when Reagan Fowler doubled, Kevin Lamb singled him to third and Brennan Murphy sent him home with a sacrifice fly.
The Shockers put three on the scoreboard with two outs in the fourth on a double, single, triple and a wild pitch by starter Austin Groth (2-1). They added one more in the fifth. Groth gave up all four runs on nine hits and two walks in 4.1 innings.
Garrett Brummett (3-0) remained undefeated, holding the Jays to one run on four hits in six innings.
The loss dropped CU to 28-14 and 11-7 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Wichita State closed out its MVC season at 15-6 and moved to 31-24 overall.
