Indiana State Shuts Down Jays 6-1

The Bluejays were held to just four hits as Indiana State won 6-1 Friday night in Terre Haute.

Down 1-0 entering the top of the third, the Jays loaded the bases with nobody out as Kevin Lamb and Brad McKewon singled and Federico Castagnini reached on throwing error by third baseman Koby Kraemer. Jake Peter grounded into a double play to score a run and Mike Gerber lined out to second to end the inning.

The Sycamores scored three runs in their half of the frame via two walks and a three-run homer by Robby Ort. Indiana State added two runs in the seventh on RBI singles by Jacob Hayes and Jordan Pearson.

Devin Moore (3-3) got the win and Tommy Strunc (4-1) took the loss, which dropped Creighton to 18-7 and 5-2 in Missouri Valley Conference play. Indiana State moved to 15-13 and 5-5 in MVC action.
