Creighton Sweeps Drake
Creighton improved to 18-3 by winning its sixth straight match, a 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-11) sweep at Drake Saturday night, the Bluejays' first sweep in Des Moines since 2003.
Kelli Browning led the way with 12 kills and seven blocks on the night, while Kate Elman had 22 digs for CU. The Jays had 36 kills, three aces, 56 digs and 11 blocks on .252 hitting.
Drake was paced by seven kills each from Cassie Effken and Bentley Mancini, but struggled to get production from its outside hitters. Drake's -.060 hitting efficiency was the fifth-worst ever by a Creighton opponent. Sarah Madden led the Bulldogs with 24 digs.
DU finished with 24 kills, three aces, 53 digs and five blocks.
